Description

A pressure reducing valve can be one of the most important plumbing devices in your home. On average a city will supply a hole with 90-130 PSI of pressure, yet a home should only see 50-60 PSI.

The purpose in a PRV (Pressure Reducing Valve) is to take that high city pressure and tone it down to a safe sustainable pressure.

Pressure reducing valves have a life expectancy of 8-12 years. Some fail earlier and some last longer. The only way to tell if this device is still working is to put a gauge on a hose bib or at the bottom of your water heater.
